Across The Loch

Hello!

I can't believe I haven't posted since May! Where has the time gone? It's passing me by so fast.
I'm gonna try to post more now because I actually have so so many new artists on my mind lately.
I'd like to start with Breathe Owl Breathe today. This is their song called Across The Loch, been my favorite for a while now. Hope you like!

Twenty Miles

Hello,

One of my beloved artists is lady Vanessa Carlton (surely am going to post about her soon) and she got in touch with this folk/blues band called Deer Tick and posted about this on her Twitter.
I remember being kind of bored that day so I decided to listen to a couple of their songs. Suprisingly indeed, I started to like it very much!

I don't know about you but I never really liked this style of music but this band is just so good. I want to share this one song with you because it is literally taking my breath away, especially the chorous. I would even say the chorous is haunting in the best way possible. It is called Twenty Miles. Check it out if you've got four minutes. Thanks.

Grooveshark

Hello,

I came here today to make a short post about the best page ever -- Grooveshark.com
What is it? Well, I like calling it "My Personal Youtube" because that's exactly what it is.
Basically all you do is log in, find your favorite artist/band and listen to them. By those informations this page finds out what else you might like and offers you another music!
I've always had a trouble finding artists similiar to those I listen to and now I've already found like five bands I actually like!
Try it guys. There is even this amazing bonus -- it is free. You can listen to whole albums all day long and don't have to pay a single penny. Ain't that amazing?

Where We Lie Down, Our Bed is Green

Hello,

I don't know if you know the famous youtube channel Schmoyoho? It is specialized on auto-tuning the news, calling it Songify this. You might know their Bed Intruder Song or Charlie Sheen's Winning. This channel is made by The Gregory Brothers, which is actually a band of three brothers - Evan, Michael and Andrew and Evan's wife Sarah.
But, they are doing music even separately which is exactly the case of Andrew singing with Sarah and The Color Red Band. This combination created a beautiful, peaceful folk/alternative music.

So, my most favorite is the song called Where We Lie Down, Our Bed is Green. Here it is with its lovely music video. Enjoy!

Roslyn

Hello,

I'm in kinda bad mood in a while so I'm gonna be very very short. I just wanna say that I miss summer, holidays, our cottage and reading Jane Austen's book under green tree and lying on a bench and worrying I'm gonna get sunburnt... I like winter, but not in a while. So please, let it be over.

So, here comes a song --> Bon Iver & St. Vincent - Roslyn. I've heard this in Twilight's New Moon movie and loved it. Even though the movie sucks and is not like the book at all, it still has amazing soundtrack... This song is playing while Bella is waiting for Edward who never shows up...

Liberal Arts

Hello,

I'm writing this right after I finished watching Josh Radnor's "Liberal Arts" movie. And it was one of the best movies I've seen in a very long time.

It's basicaly telling a story about 35 year old Jessie who is living in New York and is unsatisfied with his life. He gets a call from his former college teacher who is going to retirement. Jessie is coming back to his college town to meet him and visits his school again and realizes how he hasn't changed since college and how he wants to come back to those years. He meets 19 year old girl - Zibby - who is very smart and entartaining and Jessie finds himself falling for her.

I wanted to watch this movie for so long but couldn't find it anywhere. But now that I finally saw it, it was beyond my expectations. Check it out if you wanna and take a look at Josh Radnor's debut movie as well. It's called Happythankyoumoreplease. Shitty name (even though I kinda love it) but amazing film.

And today I'm giving you a song from Liberal Arts' soundtrack - Moby, Poison Tree.

Grammys

Hello,

I'm SO excited about the Grammy results. Many of my favorites won.

But despite all of the amazing artists, I'd like to mention only my dearly-loved band Mumford & Sons - they won two prizes including "Best Album of the Year" for "Babel". And this record indeed is blowing my mind every time I listen to it. Check it out for sure... I actually can play most of this album on guitar - which is something I've never achieved before!
So, congrats, guys! And all I can say is just - go, Mumford & Sons, go!

Here is one of my favs from "Babel" - "Lover of the Light" with its amazing video.

Jack and Jill

Hello!

Being obsessed with Pretty Little Liars so much! I'm watching it all the time.

And so, there is this Season 1 Episode 2 and this amazing song is playing while Aria and Ezra are looking at each other in the classroom - so magical. It's called Jack and Jill and is sang by Katie Herzig. Lovely one...

The Hobbit

Hello everyone,

so, lately I've just been wondering about this movie The Hobbit. I denied watching it because the director of this movie is suited for harming over 30 "co-starring" animals by holding them under terrible conditions. Even though I haven't forgotten about this now I really wanna watch this movie!

So, to make the mood I'll post this song from soundtrack of the first The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring movie. I remember listening to this with my bro and having a very good time... Ahh, makes me think about my childhood. :-) Enjoy!

Love....      Terez

Zana and Nadia Muhsen II. - Happy Ending

Hello people,

before I start - Happy New Year to you!
Last post I shared was about Zana and Nadia Muhsen who were in 1980 married at ages 15 and 14, dragged to Yemen and forced to live here under impossibly cruel life conditions - for example forced to sexual intercourse. The book Sold that describes their story ends badly - Zana is back home but years pass and Nadia is still in Yemen with all of their kids.

So what's happened to Nadia? Is Nadia back in England now? Is Nadia still in Yemen? I finally found the answer.

Nadia and the children are now safely back in the UK. Marcus (Zana's son) came looking for his mother as soon as he turned 18, just as Zana always hoped he would.

How did I find out? By an advice of one internet user I wrote an e-mail to Andrew Crofts -- co-writer of the book Sold. He answered immediately and very politely and I was very glad to read his kind words. I wanna say huge thanks to him for answering and bringing peace to me.

Love, people                           Terez
